On September 26, 2023, The United States Department of Labor released its 2022 annual report on the “Worst Forms of Child Labor”. The report analyses the state of child labour in 131 countries and territories, and outlines jurisdiction-specific recommendations to combat illegal child labour practices.
According to the Report, in 2022, there were 160 million children still engaged in child labour, with nearly half working in hazardous conditions, including forced labour and commercial sexual exploitation.
