The Centre at the 2026 UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum in Bangkok

The Centre for Child Rights and Business will join the 8th UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific, taking place in Bangkok from September 14–17 under the theme Building Resilience, Advancing Rights. The Forum brings together governments, businesses, investors, civil society and rights holders to advance practical approaches to responsible business and human rights across the region.

The Centre will contribute to three sessions, sharing practical experience on child labour prevention and remediation, local systems-building and children’s rights in sustainability reporting.

At the B+HR Asia Exchange Café, The Centre will invite participants to explore how Child Rights Action Hubs bring brands, suppliers, civil society and public actors together to tackle shared child labour risks and strengthen prevention and remediation across complex supply chains.

The Exchange Café is a new, highly interactive format at the Forum. Instead of sitting through presentations, participants will move between themed tables, joining small-group conversations with different organisations and peers. Each table offers a chance to ask questions, share experiences, test ideas and discuss what is working and what is not.

On September 15 at 14:15, The Centre will also join the panel “Making Mandatory Sustainability Disclosure Work for Children’s Rights”, alongside experts examining how mandatory sustainability disclosure is evolving across Asia.

The discussion will draw on Making Children Count: Sustainability Reporting Across Emerging Asia, a new study developed with UNICEF that The Centre helped design and draft. The research examined how companies across the region report on children’s rights and highlights a persistent gap: while climate-related disclosure is advancing, social issues such as gender, safety and labour are only gradually becoming part of prescribed reporting frameworks, while children’s rights remain largely overlooked.

The session will ask a practical question: as regulators strengthen sustainability disclosure requirements, what will it take to ensure children’s rights are part of the picture?

We’re looking forward to bringing our experience to these conversations, but also to learning from others, exchanging ideas and connecting with organisations working to strengthen responsible business and human rights across the region.
